Armenian wrestler defeats Azeri rival to become European Champion

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian freestyle wrestler Lyova Gevorgyan (125 kg) defeated Aydin Ahmadov of Azerbaijan 11-0 in his final bout to win gold at the U21 European Championships in Dortmund, Germany, Armenia's National Olympic Committee reports.

Out of the seven Armenian athletes participating in the tournament, four others snatched medals too. Manvel Khndzrtsyan (57 kg) and Levik Mikayelyan won silver medals, while Narek Harutyunyan (70 kg) and Sergey Sargsyan (92 kg) won bronze.

The competitions for Greco-Roman wrestlers will begin on July 2.
