American town of Arlington will host a marathon in memory of Alan Hovhannes

PanARMENIAN.Net - On May 2, American town of Arlington will host number of festive events to celebrate 100 years anniversary of Alan Hovhannes, American composer of Armenian heritage.

Alan Hovhannes monument opening ceremony, free concert in Arlington town hall, and a marathon from New Hampshire to Alan Hovhannes' native house will be held within celebration framework.



The composer's father Harvard university graduate was Taft University professor and Armenian -English dictionary author.



American composer of Armenian Heritage, Alan Hovhannes authored 67 symphonies and 434 opuses for Asian instruments.
