Aliyev casts ballot on Karabakh in violation of electoral law

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Wednesday, February 7 cast his ballot in Stepanakert, the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh, in violation of electoral law.

Photos published by Azerbaijani media show Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva and their three children casting their ballots in the Armenian town, where they have no registration.

Azerbaijanis vote in snap presidential elections, being held a year before Aliyev’s fourth term comes to an end.

The election is almost certain to give the incumbent president another seven-year term, given that there is no limit on the number of terms Aliyev can serve, and there is no real challenge from six other candidates, some of which have previously publicly praised him.
