"I knew what I was walking into, I was prepared," he said. "And I am ready for even worse conditions. I am not a victim, I do not need pity, because this was a conscious decision." He specifically stressed that his demands remain unchanged, calling for an open and transparent trial in accordance with Azerbaijani law, with the presence of international media and observers. Vardanyan also pointed out that attempts to isolate his case from the broader context are unjust. In his message, he also touched on personal matters, apologizing to his family, friends, and anyone he may have hurt. He noted that his decisions were made consciously and that he is prepared to face their consequences while remaining true to his values. Vardanyan addressed broader issues as well, stating that it is not just him and his associates on trial, but the entire Armenian people. He emphasized that the conflict does not end at this stage and urged people to move beyond indifference. He reaffirmed that throughout his life, he has done what he considered morally right and has never betrayed his principles, even in the most difficult moments. In his message, he also reminded that evil cannot be defeated with evil and that true peace must be long-term and stable, not just a signed agreement on paper. In conclusion, Vardanyan reassured that he remains steadfast and will not succumb to despair, believing that the future depends on collective efforts.
