Virabyan appointed deputy education minister![]() July 1, 2026 - 14:23 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Tigran Virabyan has been appointed Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia. The decision was signed by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Virabyan previously served as deputy mayor of Yerevan during the tenure of former Mayor Hayk Marutyan. Under separate decisions, Daniel Danielyan and Hasmik Avagyan were dismissed from their positions as deputy ministers. Danielyan served as deputy minister for nearly three years, while Avagyan held the post for more than one year. As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed. David Vardanyan is the son of former Karabakh leader Ruben Vardanyan who who is currently imprisoned in Azerbaijan. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has met with Stephan Schütz, Executive Partner at Gerkan, Marg and Partners. The number of state universities will be reduced from 23 to 8 by 2030, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan has said. Partner news |
