Armenia to host Days of Chinese Culture in November 2009September 12, 2009 - 16:56 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - During his visit to China, RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan met with his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi. Attaching high importance to enhanced bilateral ties, FM Nalbandyan expressed satisfaction with the dynamic development of Armenian-Chinese relations.Parties stressed that effective cooperation in spheres of politics, culture, economy and education had strengthened mutual trust between two Armenia and China which currently express willingness to take active steps towards extending mutual partnership to new spheres. Edward Nalbandyan and Yang Jiechi thoroughly discussed possibilities of developing cooperation and conducting active consultations between two countries' Foreign Ministries. They also exchanged views on several international and regional issues. Armenian FM expressed gratitude to his Chinese colleague for official Beijing's balanced position on Caucasian problems. During the meeting, Armenian FM introduced to Yang Jiechi recent developments in Armenian-Turkish rapprochement and Karabakh process. Chinese FM offered his country's assistance in settlement of Karabakh conflict and normalization of Armenian-Turkish ties. Parties discussed current issues on international agenda, particularly reorganization of UN Security Council, resolution of Middle East conflicts, elimination of global crisis impact and climate change. Ministers also focused on economic cooperation and implementation of agreements achieved. They agreed to organize Armenian-Chinese intergovernmental committee's next session next December in Chinese capital. Parties also discussed possibilities of cooperation in spheres of education, science and culture. They both stressed the importance of increasing the number of Armenian and Chinese University students in their countries and signing agreements on mutual recognition of diplomas. In connection with Days of Chinese Culture due in Armenia in November 2009, they also discussed possibilities of organizing Days of Armenian Culture in China, RA MFA press service reports.
