YEREVAN "ZVARTNOTS" AIRPORT PASSED TO TRUST MANAGEMENT TO EDUARDO ERNEKIAN ARGENTINEANDecember 17, 2001 - 23:02 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Today a contract on passing Yerevan "Zvartnots" airport to trusty management of "Aeroportos Arkhentina 2000" was signed in the Armenian capital. Its term is thirty years. "Aeroportos Arkhentina 2000" company is owned by a prominent businessman Eduardo Ernekian, owning and managing 33 airports altogether in different countries of Southern America. 90% of all air transportation in Argentina is put into practice via his airports. Ernekian told journalists he intended to heave "Zvartnots" to the international standards level. He plans to invest some 80 million dollars for the airport development, 50 of which will be invested in the near 5 years. Free trade, recreation and entertainment zones will be created on the airport territory. In Ernekian's opinion, "Zvartnots" will become profitable in 12 years. There is information that Ernekian intends to buy "Armenian Airlines" company, too. At present "Aeroportos Arkhentina 2000" company experts examine the state of affairs in the company.
