Azerbaijan to supply gas to Ukraine

PanARMENIAN.Net - Ukraine’s Fuel and Energy Minister Yuri Boyko said Ukrainian officials have held talks with Azerbaijani counterparts, who build a liquefied natural gas terminal in Kula, Georgia, together with Romanian and Bulgarian specialists.

"We plan to buy 5 billion cubic meters of gas initially, and about 5 to 10 billion cubic meters in subsequently," he said.

The Minister said that the construction of own transhipment terminal for liquefied natural gas will cost Ukraine a billion dollars. However, building a terminal in Odessa, Kiev will be able to find alternatives to Russian gas.

"Construction of the terminal will be repaid very quickly,” he said, today.az reported.
