Hranush Hakobyan: banking system one of Armenia’s major achievementsPanARMENIAN.Net - The first ever all-Armenian conference of bankers and financiers kicked off in Yerevan on October 17, 2010. “Such forums unite the Armenian nation, when the world is challenged by terror threats, natural disasters and poverty. We also experience problems with civil and democratic institutions as well as governance system,” Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan said in her opening remarks. “The banking system of Armenia is one of the republic’s major achievements. The solid banking system along with the government’s anti-crisis program helped secure our population from severe shocks,” she said. Minister Hakobyan called on Diaspora bankers to share experience with local financiers for further development of the Armenian expert and investment policy. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision. Kerobyan has said that for the first time in the history of Armenia, the volume of foreign direct investments amounted to about $1 billion. Partner news |
