BarCamp Yerevan 2011 to be held in May

PanARMENIAN.Net - Arpine Grigoryan, an organizer of BarCamp informal conference on information technologies, said that the conference will be held for the third time in Yerevan.

BarCamp Yerevan 2011 due May 28-29 will focus on presentations of local leaders in the IT field, Grigoryan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

The event will be aimed also at revealing new talented employees for the IT field.

BarCamp Yerevan 2011 is expected to bring together participants from foreign countries as well.

BarCamp is an international network of user-generated conferences. They are open, participatory workshop-events, whose content is provided by participants. The first BarCamps focused on early-stage web applications, and were related to open source technologies, social protocols and open data formats. The first BarCamp was held in Palo Alto, California, in 2005. Since then, BarCamps have been held in over 350 cities around the world.

The event has been organized in Armenia since 2009. BarCamp was held in the Republic of Artsakh for the first time in 2010.
