Javakhk Armenians urge Karekin II to address Vahagn Chakhalyan issue

PanARMENIAN.Net - On the threshold of the visit of Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Karekin II to Georgia, Javakhk Armenians signed a petition calling on the Catholicos to raise the issues of Armenian population during his meeting with Georgian officials and Catholic-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II.

Those undersigned also requested Karekin II to address the illegal arrest of Javakhk political activist, United Javakhk Movement Leader Vahagn Chakhalyan.

Over 1200 Armenians from Akhalkalaki, Ninotsminda, Borjomi, Tsalka singed the petition sent to Holy Etchmiadzin on June 9, Yerkir Union reported.
