President: Armenian government will spare no effort to conduct fair elections

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian government will spare no effort to conduct the elections in full compliance with Constitution and laws, as well as international commitments, Armenian President said.

“The Armenian government, like any other democratic government, undoubtedly attach great importance to the role of fair and transparent elections for further development of our statehood. However, free and fair elections are not enough. It is also necessary that the elections be perceived as such by the public. To this end, the recent adoption of a new Electoral Code is certainly worth mentioning,” Serzh Sargsyan stated during PACE plenary meeting.

“Most importantly, the upcoming elections should take place in an atmosphere of public trust,” the President said.
