Kazakhstan to host World Boxing Championship 2013

PanARMENIAN.Net - The International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) unanimously supported Kazakhstan’s request for hosting the World Boxing Championship among adults in 2013 in Astana, AIBA President Ching-Kuo Wu made it public today.

“Yesterday, the Executive Committee received the request from Kazakhstan for hosting the 2013 AIBA World Boxing Championships in Astana. Having considered all the requests and preparation programs the Committee unanimously voted for giving the right to host this Championship to Astana,” Ching-Kuo Wu said.

As was earlier mentioned, the Junior World Boxing Championship had been held in Kazakhstan from July 23 through July 30.

The 2011 AIBA World Boxing Championships which will be held from September 22 -October 10, 2011 in Baku, Azerbaijan, will have a particular significance as the first major qualifying event for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
