Miss USA is a Donald Trump organization, and the finalist will then enter into the Miss Universe competition. 24 year old Kanian is an active freelance entertainment writer and reporter for red carpet events and celebrity interviews for Hollyscoop, Examiner.com, and Yerevan Magazine. Her experience in front of the camera, and behind the mic, has given her the confidence to be successful in the pageant. Violet chose to represent Miss Glendale in the pageant after coordinating a toy drive for underprivileged and hospitalized children. The fundraiser was a success, and Kanian plans on using the pageant to reach more children in need and involve herself in other charitable work. “There are hundreds of kids in hospitals and orphanages that I’d love to make smile,” says Kanian about her charity work with children. Violet, who is full Armenian, is extremely proud to represent her culture in the pageant, and if crowned, would be the first ever Armenian-American to represent California in the Miss USA pageant.
