Armenian Americans to join with Congress in marking Armenia's 20th anniversary

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Americans will join on Capitol Hill with the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues on Tuesday, October 25 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Republic of Armenia's rebirth as an independent country, reported the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA).

The program, which will start at 6:30 pm, will be held in the historic hearing room of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee, 2172 Rayburn House Office Building. This room has been the setting for many watershed meetings on Armenian issues, including the approval of a series of Armenian Genocide Resolutions and, just this past July 20, the adoption of a Return of Churches amendment calling on Turkey to restore Christian religious properties to their rightful owners. (Doors will open at 6:00 pm.).

The event is organized by the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues, in coordination with the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia and Armenian American organizations.
