  Strong tremors continue in Van  October 23, 2011 - 16:54 AMTPanARMENIAN.Net - European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) reports that a 5.4 magnitude earthquake has taken place, epicenter being eastern Turkey, near Van city at the depth of 80 km. According to various estimates, earthquake measuring 5-6 on Richter scale rocked Yerevan. Comparably stronger tremors were felt in the northern part of the city, where residents left their houses waiting for messages from the Service of Seismic Protection and Emergency Ministry.   Top stories Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. In 2023, the Azerbaijani government will increase the country’s defense budget by more than 1.1 billion manats ($650 million). The bill, published on Monday, is designed to "eliminate the shortcomings of an unreasonably broad interpretation of the key concept of "compatriot". The earthquake caused a temporary blackout, damaged many buildings and closed a number of rural roads.
