Acting Yerevan Mayor supports Municipality initiatives![]() ![]() Acting Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan expressed intention to continue programs and reforms initiated by Municipality. Commenting on a possibility to be nominated to mayoral position, recently vacated by Karen Karapetyan, Margaryan noted the final decision to belong to President Serzh Sargsyan and ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Council. Referring to the reason behind Karapetyan's resignation, he confirmed the issue with a ban on street trading was not one of them. “As an acting Mayor and a member of City Council, I support the resolution on street trading ban,” he said, adding that the issue will be discussed after the appointment of a new mayor. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
