At the opening of Armenia-Georgia business forum in Tbilisi, Serzh Sargsyan praised Georgia for its economic success. “With both Armenia and Georgia lacking natural resources, effective management is a must in development of the countries’ economy,” the President stated, further detailing prospective sectors in Armenia’s economy. Georgian President Mikeil Saakashvili, in turn, stressed the importance of strengthening of Armenia-Georgia ties. He briefed those present on favorable business climate in Georgia, economy reforms implemented and anti-corruption struggle waged, Business Georgia reported. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision. Kerobyan has said that for the first time in the history of Armenia, the volume of foreign direct investments amounted to about $1 billion. Partner news |
