PM urges development of intellectual potential in Armenia![]() December 4, 2011 - 16:00 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister pointed out the war, the blockade, the earthquake and mass “brain drain” among the main reasons for deteriorating economy in the country. “With the ageing population problem and population polarization issue, which resulted in elimination of the middle class, poverty growth in the country reached 30%,” Tigran Sargsyan stated at the seminar on export-oriented industrial development strategy. In this context, the PM stressed the importance of forming economy development policy to counter and minimize external shocks. “Creation of opportunities in education sphere to develop intellectual potential is essential in formation of Armenia’s economic model,” Sargsyan said. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
