Turkey: France will pay high price for adopting Armenian Genocide bill

PanARMENIAN.Net - France will pay a high price for adoption of the bill penalizing the Armenian Genocide denial, TRT Haber quoted Turkish parliament speaker Cemil Çiçek as saying.

On December 7, the Judiciary Committee of the French National Assembly passed the bill on criminalization of the Armenian Genocide denial introduced by MP Valerie Boyer (UMP).

A draft law envisaging a one-year prison sentence and 45,000 euro fine for denying the Armenian Genocide is due to go before French parliament December 22.
