  French National Assembly reportedly adopts Armenian Genocide bill  December 20, 2011 - 11:19 AMTPanARMENIAN.Net - French National Assembly reportedly adopted the bill criminalizing Armenian Genocide denial with 106 votes in favor and 19 against, according to Turkish media. A draft law envisaging a one-year prison sentence and 45,000 euro fine for denying the Armenian Genocide was due to go before French parliament on December 22. Meanwhile Turkey threatens France with retaliatory moves if the French parliament approves the bill.   Top stories Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. In 2023, the Azerbaijani government will increase the country’s defense budget by more than 1.1 billion manats ($650 million). The bill, published on Monday, is designed to "eliminate the shortcomings of an unreasonably broad interpretation of the key concept of "compatriot".
