Iranian FM compares media influence to military power

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Tuesday, Jan 31, that the role and power of media is the same as military power in a way that it can determine losers or winners in global challenges.

According to state-run IRNA news agency, Salehi made the remarks during a ceremony marking the launch of new Spanish TV network, Hispan TV.

“Media has the power to shape the global public opinion, a capability that military power lacks,” he said. “The only way to confront the arrogant media is to launch new media charged with promoting ethics and sincerity and adopting unbiased policies and approaches.”

Salehi delivered his speech in Spanish to show the importance of the language.
