Germany wants to follow France’s suit over Genocide bill

PanARMENIAN.Net - Germany should follow France’s and Switzerland’s suit regarding adoption of the bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial, according to some Germans.

“Armenian Genocide is a subject of international law and UN convention on Genocide, bearing jus cogens nature, may be applied as to events that occurred prior to its adoption,” an article placed on a website urging to establish a dialogue between German authorities and public reads.

German citizens stress the need for their country to consider its past and urge Turkey to address the issue of Armenian and Assyrian Genocide.

“Denial policy contradicts the idea of free and open community,” the article further runs.
