Israel targets Gaza tunnel, arms factory February 26, 2012 - 15:37 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Israeli aircraft bombed two targets in the southern Gaza Strip overnight, the military said Sunday, February 26. A smuggling tunnel in the town of Rafah, on the border with Egypt, and a building where Israel says militants manufacture weapons were destroyed. The strikes came in response to rockets fired at southern Israel over the weekend, an army statement said. It said Palestinian militants fired more than 50 rockets and mortar shells at Israel over the past two months. No immediate injuries were reported, Haaretz reported citing DPA. On Saturday, IDF soldiers clashed with Palestinian stone throwers in a Jerusalem suburb after the funeral of a Palestinian killed by Israeli fire in an earlier skirmish. An army spokesman said troops fired tear gas to disperse several dozen Palestinians who hurled rocks and bottles at Israeli forces in the West Bank's al-Ram district on the edge of Jerusalem.
