Conference on military medicine kicks off in YerevanMarch 3, 2012 - 13:46 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi hosted a scientific conference on military medicine within the framework of 20th anniversary of Armenian Army. The event was initiated by Ara Minasyan, head of St. Gregory Illuminator Medical Center. Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Samvel Nikoyan, Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, head of Yerkrapah Volunteer Union Manvel Grigoryan, as well as Armenian generals, officers and military doctors attended the conference. Minister Ohanyan thanked military doctors for their huge support and contribution to development of the national army both during Artsakh war and later. “Doctors volunteered to join the army when it was just being established; they provided great support to our army during the war bringing back about 70% of those wounded,” Armenian Defense Minister said. Ohanyan granted medals to doctors who participated in Artsakh war. Manvel Grigoryan gave medals and certificates to Yerkrapah Volunteer Union members saying that another 5000 doctors will be awarded Union medals.
