RA NA: Armenia’s integration into Europe is among country’s prioritiesOctober 21, 2010 - 19:58 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On October 21, Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan met with Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland. Abrahamyan hailed Thorbjorn Jagland’s visit to Armenia and his participation in the CoE Forum for the Future of Democracy. According to Abrahamyan, Armenia’s integration into Europe is among the country’s political priorities. He added that Armenia continues implementing reforms aimed at strengthening democracy in the country. For his part, Thorbjorn Jagland stressed the important role of Armenia in the CoE, saying that the Council of Europe closely follows the reforms implemented in Armenia.
