Ter-Petrossian reminded the demonstrators about riots in Egypt and Tunisia where the general social discontent led to the change of power. “Should Armenian authorities fail to make inferences in current situation, the scenario may be repeated in Armenia,” he said, noting that only extraordinary presidential elections can save the situation. ANC coordinator, Levon Zurabyan, in turn, stated that the Congress has initiated a number of steps to trigger extraordinary elections. Zurabyan announced March 1 as a date for the next rally, warning the population to be ready for “serious events”.
