Safaryan rejects statements on formation of united opposition front by Heritage

PanARMENIAN.Net - Head of Heritage parliamentary group Stepan Safaryan refuted the statement of Secretary of Heritage party board Karine Hakobyan about formation of a united opposition front by the party.

“Hakobyan presented her personal stance on the matter, but not that of Heritage or its board,” Safaryan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

According to him, there is sense in discussing these personal approaches or opinions, but it is not the stance of Heritage, as it has not adopted a decision on it.

“The party’s steps, priorities and our stance are mentioned in the March 13 three-page decision. All the other things that are voiced by representatives of the party, including me, beyond the document’s scope are only a personal opinion, as is the case with Karine Hakobyan,” said Safaryan.

During the March 31 press conference, Secretary of Heritage party board Karine Hakobyan said that Heritage currently mulls formation of a united opposition front that can involve the ANC as well, but not creation of the second opposition front.

Hakobyan noted that the new union will be open, unlike the ANC, and will have a ‘roundtable’ format.”
