PanARMENIAN.Net - 900 000 conceptions are being registered in the world daily. 150 000 abortions are being performed daily and 53-60 million abortions annually.

In 2004 a law was passed in Armenia stipulating for every woman's right to undergo an abortion in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. To undergo an abortion after the 12th and 22nd weeks, doctor's permission must be obtained.

She noted that many Armenian women have changed their attitudes to pregnancy and abortions: more women are using contraceptives which decreases abortion cases.

According to recent National Program, every pregnant woman is entitled to a Maternity Certificate in a policlinic where she receives consultations. The certificate entitles a woman to free consultations and childbirth.
