Norik Sargsyan: 12809 pedestrians were fined in January–May 2010![]() May 20, 2010 - 15:59 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Road accident rate decreased by 35 cases in January–May 2010 as compared with 2009, head of Yerevan traffic patrol service of the RA Police Norik Sargsyan stated. As he told a news conference in Yerevan, a decrease in road accident victims’ number was also observed with fatal accidents and injuries rate falling by 26 and 60 respectively. “Running-down accidents decreased by 20-30% compared with 2009,” he noted, adding that 12809 pedestrians were fined in January–May 2010, with 60% making immediate payments. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
