HSBC Bank Armenia holds environmental protection events

PanARMENIAN.Net - More than thirty thousand customers and stakeholders became aware of important environmental protection issues as a result of one month campaign in and out of HSBC Bank Armenia premises, the Bank said in a press release.

For the second consecutive year HSBC Bank Armenia announces June as a month of environment protection activities such as:

AntiPlastic Campaign – encouraging the employees and customers to use reusable bags. One thousand reusable bags were distributed among the customers, which were tailored by women from underprivileged villages in the scope of “Plastic free Communities” joint project with COAF.

Out-to-nature event – sixty employees of the Bank participated in environmental clean-up and nature protection event. In Vayots Dzor region an area on the way to Noravank was cleared of cans, plastic and glass bottles. The collected waste (above 6500 items) was passed on to a partner organization, AR & AR Engineering LLC, the first recycling company in Armenia.

Awareness raising and call to action events, involving and engaging bank employees and customers: no plastic day-possibly resign from using plastic items, no car day -walking to the work place or using a public transport and no printing day - 30% reduction of daily average printing quantities, as a result of controlling printing.

Thousands of HSBC employees throughout the world join their efforts to make a difference in combating the impact of climate change in their regions at work, home or in their communities and so do 360 employees of HSBC Bank Armenia. Each of us can be part of the solution “Save, Reduce, Recycle” by acting on climate change!” stated Astrid Clifford, the CEO of HSBC Bank Armenia.
