Decrease in term of military service discussed in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - On July 15, a special sitting of the youth subcommittee of the RA Public Council (PC) discussed suggestions of Chairman of the PC Vazgen Manukyan addressed to members of the Council in an open letter.

Specifically, the youth subcommittee referred to the most actual issues: army and education. It approved Sargsyan’s suggestion on compulsory military service of young people who had attained the age of eighteen (except for young people who have health problems), provided that the term of military service is cut to one-and-a-half year.

“The Armenian army will become only stronger with each reform in the field,” said chairperson of the subcommittee of the RA Public Council Hripsime Margaryan.
