Cardiology clinic opens in GorisOctober 16, 2010 - 12:01 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan visited Zangezur cardiology clinic which has recently opened in Goris. As Hayastan All Armenian Fund executive director Ara Vardanyan told journalists on October 16, the construction costing AMD 432.28 million started in May 2009 and was accomplished in October 2010 through the assistance of Hayastan All Armenian Fund, Union of Armenian Doctors of France and Lebanese government. The clinic offers diagnostic and prevention services. Further development will allow heart surgeries as well. The venue, Goris, is not accidental. “We found out that patients with heart attack had to be transported to Yerevan. Now, patients from Syunik and Artsakh can be rendered the essential aid here. In 3 or 4 months, the clinic will receive European equipment at the amount of 1 million euro. 5 ambulances will be provided. The clinic will employ 45 medics, some of whom took a refresher course in Yerevan’s Nork Marash medical center,” Vardanyan said. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
