Armenian President visits construction site of Matenadaran-adjacent building

PanARMENIAN.Net - On March 19, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan visited he construction site of a new building adjacent to Matenadaran, the museum of ancient manuscripts.

The building plan was drafted by a chief architect, singer and composer Artur Meschian, who briefed the President on the possibilities of the building aimed for scientific and research activities, storage of and restoration of exhibits. The new building complete with up-to-day equipment is also meant to host various events.

The exhibition halls will be allocated in the old building, Matenadaran.

Total area of a new building comprises 11358 sq.m., while the old building has an area of 3186 sq.m. The new building will be put into operation in August 2011.
