Armenian Camp NGO Chairman Samvel Rostomyan said to PanARMENIAN.Net correspondent that the program implementation started a month ago, but involvement of handicaps in sport is not an easy thing to do.

"Our organization carries outs different sport activities for handicaps from 2005. Last year we have also implemented a program that aimed to integrated handicaps to the society through art and sport. This year we will try to organize in Armenia sport championship on professional level. But to make it happen, it is necessary to have these people going for sport by their own will. For this purpose we have founded National Sport Federation of handicaps," Rostomyan said.

16 sports types are included in the program: football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, table tennis, weight lifting, light lifting, judo, downhill skiing, rowing, swimming, equestrian sport, shooting and bow shooting, goal ball and boccia.

One of difficulties to implement the program is mentality, when by saying sport they understand a way of treatment," Rostomyan said.

"We do not try to call handicap people to healthy lifestyle, context of our idea is mainly sport. Many people do not understand how a person with physical limitations can ski. And that's when sport for handicaps is very well developed in the world. For the moment, we have agreements with some sport federations to organize the trainings. We have already agreed with swimming federation simultaneously to championship of Armenia, organize also the championship for handicap," he said.
