Military exercise should be eyed as demonstration of force, Azerbaijani expert says

PanARMENIAN.Net - Maneuvers are not a military but a political event, an Azerbaijani expert said.

“Military exercise should be eyed as demonstration of force and inflexibility,” Azad Isazade said when commenting on the recent exercise in NKR attended by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.

“Presence of President and Defense Minister evidences of the country’s irreconcilability,” Isazade presumed.

According to him, the Armenian side wanted to “impress the Azerbaijani leadership on the threshold of the OSCE summit in Astana.”

“However, Azerbaijan can conduct a dozen of exercises not only along the line of contact with Nagorno Karabakh but also at the border with Armenia,” day.az quoted Isazade as saying.
