Bako Sahakyan: NKR defence army’s fighting capacity -key factor in maintaining regional stability

PanARMENIAN.Net - On February 3, President of the Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan convoked a consultation with the participation of officials from legislative and executive bodies, as well as representatives of civic society.

Issues related to the cooperation with the Defense Army were discussed during the consultation.

In his speech the President characterized the defence army as the main guarantor of NKR security, noting that high level of its fighting capacity is among the pivotal factors of maintaining stability in the region and preventing the neighbor country from resorting to non-constructive steps.

Bako Sahakyan underlined that it was necessary keep in the spotlight the issues and measures of bringing the relations between the army and the society to a new level. In this context the President noted the importance of frequent visits to military units on the part of officials and representatives of the civic sector, meetings on site with the personnel and maintaining necessary assistance for solving issues the army faced.

During the consultation special attention was given to the issues of civil defense.

Chairman of the National Assembly Ashot Ghoulyan, premier Ara Haroutyunyan, defense minister Movses Hakobyan, chief of the Army's staff Levon Mnatsakanyan, head of the Rescue Service Arthur Haroutyunyan, minister of education and science Vladik Khachatryan and other officials delivered corresponding reports.

Bako Sahakyan gave specific instructions to heads of corresponding structures for carrying out necessary activities on a proper level, Central Information Department of Artsakh President’s Office reported.
