U.S. supports Eastern Partnership initiativeFebruary 14, 2011 - 09:34 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Ambassador Ian Kelly, U.S. representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) said his country supports the Eastern Partnership initiative aimed to promote democratic reform in Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia. “Peaceful resolution of conflicts remains one of the key tasks for the OSCE. Disagreement between the member states hampered adoption of the Astana draft action plan,” he said when addressing the Permanent Council in Vienna. “To strengthen security, we should double efforts for a lasting settlement of these conflict,” Kelly said. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. Partner news |
