Azerbaijan continues exacerbating situation in Karabakh conflict zone

PanARMENIAN.Net - Nagorno Karabakh stated that the situation at the line of contact of the NKR and Azerbaijani armed forces remain tense.

Aggressive actions of Azerbaijan over the past days are notable for the fire intensity, as well as usage of various weapons, the NKR Defense Army reported.

“From March 20-24, over 200 cases of ceasefire violation by the Azerbaijani armed forces, which fired 1300 shots from various weapons at NKR positions, were recorded. The fire was most intense on March 20 and 21, during which Azerbaijan violated ceasefire for 110 times, using SVD and Black Arrow rifles,” reads a statement of the NKR Defense Army.

The NKR Defense Army thinks it is curious that the Azerbaijani propaganda machine traditionally tries to reason the tenseness at the frontline by aggressive actions of the Karabakh army, but not by its destructive stance.

Earlier Azerbaijani media reported that allegedly an Azerbaijani soldier – Samir Hidayat Agayev – was killed at the line of contact near Ashagi Abdurrahmanli village, Fizuli region, as a result of ceasefire violation by the NKR Defense Army. On March 21 Azerbaijan confirmed death of another Azerbaijani soldier – Elnur Mamedov.

Spokesman for the NKR Defense Army Senor Hasratyan said that the reports of Azerbaijani media that allegedly an Azerbaijani soldier was killed as a result of ceasefire violation by the NKR Defense Army are untrue. The NKR Defense Army continues observing the ceasefire.

“Meanwhile, 50 cases of ceasefire violation by Azerbaijan were reported on March 22 and 23,” said Hasratyan.

He added that Azerbaijan tries to shift the blame for tragic incidents in the Azerbaijani army onto the Karabakh army to conceal the real situation in the Azerbaijani armed forces from the public, as well as to present the Karabakh Defense Army as aggressor.
