  ANC of Spain hails Argentinean court ruling on Armenian Genocide recognition April 12, 2011 - 16:39 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian National Committee of Spain hailed the Argentinean court ruling on recognizing the mass killings of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire in 1915-1923 as Genocide. The lawsuit was filed in 2000 by Gregorio Hayrapetian, a representative of the Armenian-Argentinean community and Hay Dat office, the press service of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun Bureau reported. An Argentine judge has ruled that “the Turkish state committed the crime of genocide against the Armenian people” between 1915 and 1923. The ruling also says Turkey should help an Armenian descendant living in Argentina learn the fate of more than 50 of his relatives who disappeared nearly a century ago. The Turkish Embassy in Buenos Aires has not immediately responded to a request for comment. Judge Norberto Oyarbide says his ruling is “declarative” only, with no value other than the truth.
