Ilham Aliyev invited to Istanbul-hosted conference, yet gave to reply as to participation

PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkish government addressed Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev an official invitation to participate in Istanbul-hosted UN conference, Salam News reported.

Azerbaijani side hasn’t provided any official information as to the invitation received.

On behalf of Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Armenian leader Serzh Sargsyan was invited to attend the UN conference due May 9-13 in Istanbul.

Israeli President Shimon Peres, French President Nicolas Sarkozy were also invited along with Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, whose attendance is unconfirmed.

The forum is expected to host 59-69 presidents and over 100 foreign ministers.

Armenian President’s spokesman Armen Arzumanyan, in turn, stressed that no meetings with Turkish authorities have been planned in near future.
