French MP, long-standing friend of Armenians awarded with Mkhitar Gosh medal

PanARMENIAN.Net - By the decree of the Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Armenian Ambassador to France Vigen Chitechian awarded Mkhitar Gosh medal to a long-standing friend of the Armenian people Henri Sabris.

The Toulouse-hosted award ceremony was attended by the representatives of the Armenian community, Hay Dat European Bureau members.

At the ceremony, the head of the Hay Dat European office Hilda Tchoboian emphasized Mr. Sabris’ major contribution to EP adoption of the Armenian Genocide resolution in 1987. The French parliamentarian has also shown great support for Karabakh people’s right to self-determination. In 1990, Sabris was awarded with the Honorary Yerevan Citizen title, ARFD press service reported.
