Tina Kaidanow: U.S. ready to contribute to Karabakh conflict soonest resolutionApril 26, 2011 - 12:43 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Tina Kaidanow said that the U.S., as a co-chair country of the OSCE Minsk Group, wants the Nagorno Karabakh conflict to be settled peacefully as soon as possible and is ready to contribute to it. “Washington attaches importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan and interested in boosting relations with the country,” Kaidanow said during a meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov. Mammadyarov said for his part that a meeting between the Azerbaijani and Armenian Foreign Ministers took place in Moscow on April 22 through Russia’s mediation as part of negotiations on the Karabakh conflict settlement. According to the Azerbaijani Minister, “maintenance of status-quo is unacceptable,” Trend reported. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
