Armenia to send more peacekeepers to AfghanistanMay 6, 2011 - 10:46 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian armed forces general staff chief, colonel general Yuri Khachaturov attended a meeting of NATO and Partner Chiefs of Defense at NATO HQ on May 4-5. According to RA Defense Ministry’s press office, the meeting focused in the current situation in Afghanistan, further strategy and ongoing operations. In his remarks, col. Gen. Khachaturov dwelled on Armenia’s participation in ISAF and plans to expand the contingent. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. Partner news |
