Ara Sarafyan: Armenian Diaspora should attend St. Cross Church inauguration

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian historian Ara Sarafian said that the Armenian Diaspora should give a positive response to Turkey's gesture to open Akhtamar Church in Van. "If there is a problem, this should be solved without hurting any of the sides," he stated, reports Yeni Safak newspaper.

Turks reconstructed the Church of St. Cross by UNESCO's demand. The works were launched in 2005 and accomplished in August 2006. The inauguration is scheduled for March 29. The RA Ministry of Culture and Youth Affairs, representatives of the Armenian Diaspora and the Armenian Apostolic Church have received invitations.
