RF MFA: Karabakh conflict looks less glaring as compared to conflicts with Georgia's involvement.

PanARMENIAN.Net - On the background of conflicts with Georgia's involvement the Nagorno Karabakh conflict looks less glaring, says a review on Russia's foreign policy posted at the RF MFA's web site. The document says in part, "The current line implies joint activities with Washington and Paris in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. This is a policy of encouragement of immediate talks between Baku and Yerevan and it seems the most optimal one."



The review also says that "Caucasus is of key importance for the territorial integrity and national security of Russia. The situation in the region is tensed; it's dangerously explosive in Georgia particularly. 'Frozen' conflicts here are used by outer forces for consolidation of influence to the prejudice of our positions."



"Relations with Armenia are allied and firm. Armenia is our strategic partner in the Transcaucasus and a part of the integration core of the Commonwealth. Russia will work to alleviate Armenia's blockade, increase energy cooperation, reach a higher grade of external political coordination and strengthen humanitarian cooperation, says the review.



According to the document, Azerbaijan is a "strategically important partner for long-term outlook. Respect and atmosphere of trust and equality are justified. The Azeri leadership is aspired to cement ties with Russia."
