Serge Sargsyan: we enjoy economic contacts with Iran

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran is a significant state for Armenia, RA Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan said. Cargo arrived in Armenia through Iran in 1990-ies when situation in Georgia was tensed. "We extended a gas pipeline from Iran. It's the only way out for Armenia which lacks energy resources. We intensify cooperation in electric energy. The point is that Armenia is the only state in the region which has surplus of electric energy. The technology of our Nuclear Power Plant doesn't allow limitations or increase of electric energy processing. That is why we deliver it to Iran. We enjoy economic contacts with Tehran. As to security issues, we restrict ourselves to consultations," RA PM said, Nezavisimaya Gazeta reports.
