Another explosion rocks Turkey, 14 people suffered

PanARMENIAN.Net - An explosion rocked a trade center in Bakırköy, the European part of Istanbul, in the result of which 14 people were wounded. One of them is in critical situation. He received a severe wound on the head, Istanbul Chief Policeman Djellaledin Djerakh informed.

According to preliminary version of what happened, a so-called, noise grenade was exploded near Rodi trade center, which sells jeans clothing and knitted wears. Glasses of the trade center and of some nearby buildings smashed because of the blast, NTV.com.tr repots.

Police surrounded the scene of explosion. Law enforcement bodies also checked up a telephone tip, according to which another explosion would rock the city center. However, it was false.

Still there were no claims of responsibility by radical organizations that exist in Turkey. Police does not exclude that separatist Workers' Party of Kurdistan (PKK), which recently rapidly activated terrorist activities in Turkey, may be involved in the blast.

Earlier PKK and another hard-line organization known as "Kurdistan Liberation Hawks" (TAK) have repeatedly committed terror acts in Turkish cities and resort towns. On May 22 a suicide bomber committed a terror act near a trade center in Ankara. In the result of the blast 8 people were killed and 100 wounded. Separatists had used 4 kg of A-4 type plastic explosives.
