RA FM about Gabala radar base: Baku may fall victim to large-scale politics

PanARMENIAN.Net - "In our opinion, use of the Gabala radar base is a part of large-scale politics," Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian said.



"The matter concerns exploitation of the base but not installation of rockets. Consequently, the issue cannot have any serious influence on the balance of forces in the region," he said.



"I suppose Azerbaijan has much to think about, since it may fall a victim to this policy independently of its own will," the RA FM said, Interfax reports.



As it's known, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed his U.S. counterpart George Bush joint use of the Gabala radar base in Azerbaijan as an alternative to the deployment of anti-missile assets in Eastern Europe. During a meeting in Kennebunkport the U.S. President welcomed the proposal on "formation of a regional concept of anti-missile defense but said the U.S. will not give up plans regarding the Eastern Europe.
