Valdas Adamkus: Armenia is a special country for Lithuania

PanARMENIAN.Net - On April 7, Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus handed credentials to Lithuania's first-ever Ambassador to Armenia, Mr Giedrius Apuokas.



"Armenia is a special country for Lithuania and is in focus of entire Europe. Strengthening of Lithuanian-Armenian diplomatic relations will offer a possibility to form new markets and promote cultural exchange," the President said, IA Regnum reports.



Before appointment the Ambassador to Armenia Mr Apuokas served as director of the IT department at the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry.



Lithuania's Embassy was established in Armenia on October 1, 2007.
